Junior IT Security Specialist

Junior IT Security Specialist will work with the security engineer to support the organization's security operations, assist in threat detection and response, and ensure compliance with security policies and best practices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with the global security engineer and the IT teams to ensure proper security configurations of systems, networks, and applications.
- Monitor security systems for potential threats and vulnerabilities.
- Assist in investigating security incidents and help develop response plans.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of security policies, standards, and best practices.
- Conduct security awareness training for employees and provide guidance on best practices.
- Perform vulnerability assessments and assist in remediation efforts.
- Assist with identity and access management, ensuring proper access control is applied.
- Assist in managing user access, enforcing authentication policies, and monitoring identity-related threats.
- Provide documentation and reporting on security activities, incidents, and mitigation strategies.
- Keep up to date with emerging cybersecurity threats and trends.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field OR equivalent practical experience.
- Proficient in English.
- Basic knowledge of Cybersecurity concepts, and zero trust architecture.
- Basic familiarity with security tools such as Firewalls, Endpoint Detection and Response, and SIEM.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, ports, network segmentation, etc.).
- Understanding of operating systems (Windows, Linux) and basic security configurations.
- Basic familiarity with Active Directory and cloud identity management (Microsoft Azure/Entra ID).
- Proficiency in documentation and reporting tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel).
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong ENGLISH communication skills, both verbal and written.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior experience in IT support, system administration, network administration or internships involving cybersecurity tasks.
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker), GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC), or similar.
- Experience using tools such as: Microsoft Defender 365, Vulnerability Scanners, Microsoft Azure/Entra ID, Microsoft Intune, SIEM.
- Experience with some scripting or automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
